About Me
My name is Lauren and I am the business owner here at Lady Mutts. Although we are a new business, I am certainly no stranger to pets of all shapes and sizes. Before starting my own business adventure, I worked as a Veterinary Nurse assistant at Clyde vet Group in Lanark for 9 years, so I have a lot of hands on experience. Prior to that I worked as a kennel assistant at Abbey vets in Paisley for a few years. I started helping there when I was still in school and they gave me a full time job when I was 17 years old. I have also owned and worked around horses all my life, and have a great passion for animals in general. Lady Mutts came about after I had my second child and suffered greatly with post natal depression. I struggled a lot through this and I am very grateful to my family and friends who helped me through it. I decided it was time for me to be close to my family and do something I have dreamed of for years. Grooming!! I wanted to make my family proud, and show my children that you can do anything you put your mind to.
Grooming/HaircutFull Grooming for many dogs will need to be kept up on a 6 weekly basis. Although it does depend on the dog as an individual when groomed and clipped every 6 weeks it will be more manageable. When choosing a style for your pet groom, please think about how much brushing and maintenance you are willing to commit to at home. If you like the thought of having nice long feathers on their legs and lots of fluff under their tummy, please be aware this will require around 20-30 minutes of brushing each day to ensure it does not become matted and painful for the pet. If a pet comes to the salon to be groomed, but has matting which cannot be brushed out, it may have to be clipped clean to start a fresh. This will be discussed on admission.

Bath Do you really want to put your big hairy dog in your bath at home? Bring them along to Lady Mutts, I will be delighted to meet him/her and you can leave me with the mucky bath. From Neufy's to Min Pin's I'm your gal.
Nail clippingWe can give all your furry friends a nail clip. Remember all that experience as a veterinary nurse rest assured your fur baby is in capable hands. Well behaved owners are welcome to stay while we trim the pet's nails.
BrushingBrushing your pet is a great way to build a bond and trust with them, but not always will your furry friend allow it. Here at Lady Mutts we can help you out with some owner information sheets to help at home if your pet is not keen on being groomed. Or you could bring them along to our purpose built salon and I can do the hard work for you.

PamperingYour dog will love being at Lady Mutts.
We love all our customers here and make sure they have a relaxing time and leave looking fabulous. Whilst the bathing process takes place, they will have their shampoo and conditioner massaged into their body. This way they get a bit more relaxed and I can have a good feel for any little lumps or bumps we may need to look out for when brushing or clipping later on. |
